The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provided grant funds for rehabilitation of 58 long term vacant units. WHA demolished 146 obsolete units in 2010 in preparation for redevelopment and another 88 obsolete units were demolished in 2013. Riverside was selected as a "Delaware Blue Print Community" by the Federal Home Loan Bank. Extensive planning and partnering is ongoing with a variety of neighborhood stakeholders. Riverside is a planned submittal for a Choice Neighborhoods award.
